Here is the summary of the resolutions made at the Ordinary Council meeting of 8 April 2026.

  • Council heard from three members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda, including a development application in Googong, a Works in Kind Agreement in South Tralee, and a donation for the Mongarlowe Area Community Association
  • Council will provide a donation from General Fund to the Mongarlowe Area Community Association for $12,942.27 (excl GST) under Section 3.3. of Council’s Donation Policy to refund the Development Application and Construction Certificate fees associated with the Mongarlowe Hall project
  • Council granted conditional consent to a Development Application for construction of multi-dwelling housing comprising eight buildings containing 68 units, earthworks, landscaping and associated infrastructure at 60 Wellsvale Drive Googong
  • Council endorsed development and implementation of the Monaro Street Façade Improvement Program and will allocate $100,000 in the 2026-27 Operational Plan
  • Council will make improvements to the Majors Creek and Araluen bin compounds and undertake consultation to determine community preferences for opening hours for the Braidwood Waste Transfer Station
  • Council authorised the General Manager and Mayor to execute the proposed Tralee Works in Kind Agreement and publish the executed agreement on Council’s website
  • Council approved $250,000 for Pool Tiling of the Queanbeyan outdoor pool to be allocated to fund filter replacements, repairs and system upgrades, procurement of essential equipment and infrastructure upgrades at the Aquatics Centre
  • Council approved a Cultural Grant of $3,000 to Rise Above Capital Region Cancer Relief to pay for local Aboriginal artwork to be featured in the Monopoly Queanbeyan Edition
  • Council endorsed a five-year Licence Agreement with Braidwood Villages Tourism Inc. to operate the Braidwood Visitor Information Centre at the shop front in the National Theatre
  • Council approved an additional budget of $32,000 to be allocated to Women’s Changerooms at Freebody Oval, with budget from identified savings in capital projects. Adjustment to the 2025-26 Operational Plan to be made through the 3rd quarter Quarterly Budget Review Statement.
  • Council endorses the QPRC Place Naming Strategic Policy for public exhibition for 28 days and will adopt the policy if no submissions received
  • Council received information report about Deed of Variation of Memorandum of Understanding between QPRC, Googong Sports and Recreation Club and Googong Township Pty Ltd
  • Council received information report with the Resolution Action Sheet, which provided the status of outstanding Council resolutions
  • Council received information report about extreme weather and emergency preparedness
  • Council noted the minutes of the QPRC Sports Council meeting held on 9 February 2026
  • Council acknowledged and received the Heritage Advisory Committee submissions from the meeting held 19 March 2025, for DA.2025.0572 and HER.2026.014
  • Council noted the minutes of the Sustainability and Climate Change committee meeting held on 26 March 2026 and will place on public exhibition an amended cat containment policy that includes Greenleigh
  • A Notice of Motion about receiving a report with information on the costs and other project management considerations around the Restart NSW RNSW1934 project was declined
  • Council will receive a report on flood mitigation efforts required to ensure access points to the new Briars Sharrow bridge are not impacted by flooding, and will present the report before conclusion of the project for inclusion in budget deliberations
  • A Notice of Motion about gambling advertising reform and participation in GambleAware Week 2026 was declined
  • Council received delegates report from the CRJO Board Meeting on 6 March 2026
  • Council received a report with answers to questions about a MoU between QPRC, Homes NSW and TAFE NSW
  • Council received supplementary report with responses to questions from Councillors on business listed on the agenda
  • In closed session, Council received report on the General Manager’s Performance Review Six-month Check-in
