Here's the summary of resolutions made at this week's Council meeting.

  • Council heard from one member of the public who made a presentation about a matter on the agenda
  • During the Public Forum, Council made a special presentation to Kelli Rixon – QPRC Citizen of the Year. Kelli was unavailable to accept her recognition when originally presented on Australia Day
  • During the Public Forum, QPRC staff presented Mayor Winchester with several awards received in the recent Tidy Towns Awards. See separate Facebook post from Wed 8 March for full list of successful projects.
  • Council granted conditional approval for demolition of existing structures and construction of a 3-storey boarding house at 2 Ross Road, Queanbeyan
    Council established a working group of Mayor Winchester, Cr Willis and Cr Wilson to speak with nominated residents representative of properties affected by the Ellerton Drive Extension to review and prepare scope of works for noise assessment and solutions
  • Council will place the South Jerrabomberra Dog Park Review of Environmental Factors (REF) on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
    Council received the December 2022 Quarterly Budget Review Statement and adopted the budget variations
    Council endorsed the renewal of the Riverside Plaza Car Park Management Agreement and authorised the General Manager to sign and execute the agreement for five years
  • Council received a report on community consultation for the Sassafras Reserve
  • Council received a report on the QPRC – Bendigo Bank Art Awards 2023
  • Council received a report on the Bungendore High School State Significant Development
  • Council noted a report on Councillor workshops held between 16 February and 1 March including: Telstra connectivity, Bungendore High School SSDA, Quarterly Budget Review, Majors Creek and Araluen Greenwaste Service – Community Consultation and Review, Biosecurity Weeds Responsibilities, and Draft Roadside Vegetation Management Policy
  • Council received a report on a site visit to 2 Ross Road, Queanbeyan
  • Council noted the minutes of Heritage Advisory Committee meetings and recommended that the well at 10 Rutledge Street be retained in-situ and that there is a re-interpretation in public space in the vicinity of the well. A further report will be prepared in relation to a planning proposal to list the well as a Local Heritage Item. Council also adopted the terms of reference for the Committee.
