Here's the summary of resolutions made at the 10 July 2024 Ordinary Meeting of Council.

  • Council elected Cr Preston to chair the meeting, in the absence of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor
  • Council noted approved Leave of Absence for Cr Biscotti, and accepted apologies for Cr Livermore and Cr Burton
  • Council approved Leave of Absence for Cr Winchester for 10 and 24 July meetings
  • Council heard from 4 members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda, including Seniors Housing Amendment, expressions of interest for the Regional Sports Complex Café/Bar, Questions with Notice about maintenance of roads
  • Council approves variation of the QPRLEP 2022 for a development at 28 River Drive, Karabar
  • Council will seek legal advice to confirm road closure process was correct and land can be retained in Council ownership so development can be facilitated in relation to the planning proposal, received submission report following public exhibition, and subject to the legal advice will progress and finalise the amendment to the QPRLEP 2022 for Seniors Housing – Majara Street, Bungendore
  • Council allocated $3,000 from the QPRC Events Assistance Scheme to support the Majors Creek Festival in 2024
  • Council approved a Cultural Grant of $1,500 to assist with costs for the Braidwood Young Writers Festival 2024
  • Council awarded contract for the Regional Sports Complex Café/Bar Licence Agreement to Embrace Disability Group for 3 years for $5,000 per month including utilities, with option to renegotiate utility costs and CPI increases after 1 year
  • Council approved Deputy Mayor being remunerated 75% of the Mayoral allowance for the month of July 2024, while undertaking the responsibilities of Acting Mayor
  • Council received information report outlining timeline and technical studies required to implement an electrification Development Control Plan for new developments
  • Council received information report with an update on QPRC Recycling Collection following the Hume MRF fire in December 2022
  • Council received WHS quarterly report
  • Council received information report with responses to Questions With Notice about maintenance of roads
  • Council received information report with responses to Questions With Notice about customer service
  • Council received information report with Questions With Notice about Fire Safety Checks of Vacant Buildings with responses to be provided at the 24 July meeting
  • Council received information report with response from the Hon Jodie Harrison MP, NSW Minister for Women, Minister for Seniors, and Minister for the Prevention of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault about letter sent about ending violence against women
  • Council received information report with update of a resolution about Amendments to Companion Animals Act, presented at LGNSW Annual Conference, and response received from the NSW Minister
  • Council received information report about LGNSW Annual Conference 2024
  • Council received information report about Councillor workshops held between 20 June – 3 July including Bungendore High School SSDA, Strategic Planning Program 2024-25, Cat Containment LGA Wide Policy, Solid Fuel Heating, Reserve Encroachments Jerrabomberra
  • In closed session, Council agreed to use the Roads Act 1993 to create a public road over approximately 1,320m2 on the Berlang Forest Road to resolve access issues
