Council is seeking community feedback on the revised Unsealed Council Road Policy.

‘This policy guides the maintenance of the hundreds of kilometres of unsealed roads in the local government area,’ said Mayor Kenrick Winchester.

‘Councillors have been working with staff to update this policy to provide clarity for residents and Council on what maintenance to expect. The new policy is more comprehensive and helps to outline expectations.’

‘There is a lot of community interest in the maintenance of the road network, and I encourage the community to read the policy and other information and make a submission.’

‘Maintenance of the road network is guided by traffic volumes, with the estimated Average Annual Daily Traffic volumes determining what category a given road is placed in.’

‘The revised policy now provides some guidance for when Council might carry out ad-hoc works on those roads that are generally unmaintained by Council, as well as consideration for how an unmaintained road could be added to the maintained road network.’

‘There is also explanation of how Council will consider the change of a road’s category.’

Read the policy, the FAQs and provide feedback by Monday 24 November at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
