  • Council heard from two members of the public who made presentations about a matter on the agenda
  • A petition concerning Bungendore Pool was tabled during the Public Forum
  • Council agreed to formally progress a Planning Proposal to allow further consideration of a number of proposed housekeeping amendments to the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Local Environmental Plan 2022 in respect of the Googong Urban Release Area
  • Council adopted the QPRC Public Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Policy and QPRC Public Electric Vehicle Charging Plan 2030
  • Council endorsed the proposal to facilitate the development of a 10-year locality-based Braidwood Community Plan
  • Council approved the relocation of the QPRC Local and Family History Collection to the current Council Chambers at 253 Crawford Street, Queanbeyan, upon vacancy; and referred the proposal to the Heritage Advisory Committee for feedback
  • Council will dissolve the Braidwood School Gymnasium and Bungendore Multi-purpose School Hall Section 355 Committees and remove the Braidwood School Gymnasium facilities from the 2023-24 Council Fees and Charges. Council will continue to hire the Bungendore Multi-purpose School Hall until the Memorandum of Understanding expires in 2025
  • Council approved the Delegations for Section 355 Committees
  • Council adopted the revised QPRC Library Local and Family History Collections Policy
  • Council adopted the Corporate Sponsorship Policy
  • Council adopted the Footpath Management Policy
  • Council endorsed the revised Internal Audit Charter
  • Council received an information report on a proposed planning proposal for the Abbeyfield Seniors Housing Project
  • Council received an information report on updates on the Bungendore East Planning Proposal
  • Council received an information report on pine forest harvesting in the Little Bombay area
  • Council noted a report on Councillor workshops held between 16 March and 5 April 2023 including: Property File Information Requests, Planning Processes and Procedures, Child Safe Policy and Standards, Council Road Asset Workshop, Local Family History Collection Update, QPRC Draft Aquatics Strategic Plan Draft Operational Plan 22/23 - Revenue Policy Part 1: Fees and Charges, Draft Operational Plan 22/23 Assumptions and Revenue Policy Part 2: Rates, 58 Morisset Street - Asset Disposal Options
  • Council noted the minutes of Disability Access Committee meeting on 16 March 2023
  • Council noted the minutes of Queanbeyan Showground Advisory Committee meeting on 19 December 2022 and draft minutes of the Committee dated 27 February 2023 and adopted the recommendations from the meeting
  • Council noted the minutes of Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee meeting on 15 March 2023
  • Council will write to the NSW Premier and Treasurer of NSW seeking a commitment by the NSW Government to implement gambling reform measures as recommended by the NSW Crime Commission report
  • Council will write to the NSW Government seeking changes to the guidelines governing the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement to enable DRFA funds to be used for council staff to undertake work related to public asset restoration
  • Council will receive a report on the Revolving Energy Fund
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for the Braidwood Concrete Path Construction and Ancillary Works to JSC Pty Ltd for $405,827.20
  • In closed session, Council authorised the acquisition of the land as outlined in the report for the purpose of road widening on Nerriga Road
  • In closed session, Council endorsed the development of the Queanbeyan to Bungendore bulk water supply trunk main to tender ready stage and will pursue an offer for grant funding from the NSW Government under tranche 3 of the Safe and Secure Water Program. Council will provide funds for the project from the Palerang Communities Water Fund reserves and report back to Council via the Quarterly Budget Review Process of any supplementary vote request
