  • Council approved the Leave of Absence application submitted by Cr Michele Biscotti for the 22 May 2024 Council Meeting
  • Council heard from nine members of the public who made presentations about items on the agenda including: Tuggeranong Valley Rugby Union and Sports Club Limited DA for a club in Jerrabomberra; Pedestrian Safety in Bungendore; Draft South Jerrabomberra Regional Job Precinct Master Plan and Associated Amendments to the Queanbeyan-Palerang LEP; and Captains Flat lead matters
  • Council acknowledged the community interest in the DA to construct a registered club at 37 Tompsitt Drive, Jerrabomberra and will make a submission to the Regional Planning Panel to request a public determination meeting
  • Council noted the change.org petition for a pedestrian crossing in the school precinct on Kings Highway, Bungendore and will write to the Member for Monaro and NSW Minister for Transport with Council’s support for investigation and necessary work
  • Council endorsed the proposed lease agreement to Queanbeyan City Football Club over land at 25 High Street for a 25-year term
  • Council noted disbanding of the Captains Flat Lead Taskforce, that there is currently no coordinating group, and that residents have requested to be involved in implementation of lead abatement actions. Also noted that Council requires funding to remediate public and Crown Land, that residents require a viable option to dispose of contaminated soil. Will hold a workshop with councillors to discuss these matters
  • Council will establish a lead management working group with representatives from Council and the community and will write to the NSW Premier to request involvement from the NSW Government in the working group
  • Council will provide a letter of support for the finalisation of the Draft South Jerrabomberra Regional Job Precinct Master Plan and associated amendments to the Queanbeyan-Palerang Local Environmental Plan 2022
  • Council supported the progression of a scoping proposal at 138 Environa Drive, Environa for initial agency consultation, noting that this is not approval or endorsement of the scoping proposal and will consider this at a future date
  • Council supported the progression of a scoping proposal at 3 Callum St and 76 Tharwa Rd, Queanbeyan for initial agency consultation, noting that this is not approval or endorsement of the scoping proposal and will consider this at a future date
  • Council endorsed David Madew Oval as the location for the Jerrabomberra Pump Track and will proceed to final design, with report to be brought back to Council before construction
  • Council will place the Bungendore Place Plan on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • Council will place the QPRC Sporting Gallery Policy on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • Council will make submissions to NSW Parliament Inquiry into the Ability of Local Governments to Fund Infrastructure and Services, Parliamentary Inquiry into Local Government Sustainability, & NSW Parliament Inquiry into the assets, premises and funding of NSW RFS
  • Council received investment report for March 2024, noting return of $1,469,128
  • Council endorsed lease agreement renewal over 98/2 Monaro St to Marathon Health for the operation of Headspace at the current rental agreement until 30 June 2025 and will write to the Minister for Health about assurances for future funding for mental health services
  • Council adopted the Mobile Food Vending Policy
  • Council received information report about landscape embellishment at Frogs Hollow, Bungendore
  • Council received information report about the WHS Quarterly Report
  • Council received information report with Questions With Notice and staff responses about the staff salary underspends
  • Council received information report with Questions With Notice on former mayors and responses will be provided at the 8 May 2024 Council Meeting
  • Council received information report about Councillor workshops held between 4-17 April including: Draft Bungendore Place Plan, CBIT Digital Forensic Services, and Operational Plan 2024-25
  • Council noted minutes of Local Traffic Committee on 2 April 2024 and adopted recommendations from the meeting
  • In closed session, Council noted the minutes of the Queanbeyan Sporting Gallery on 18 March 2024
  • In closed session, Council agreed to undertake actions including a councillor workshop to ensure best return & development outcomes for Council properties; authorised General Manager to invite proposals to market sale of 98 Monaro St, 256 Crawford St, Rutledge St Carpark
