  • Council heard from five members of the public who made presentations about matters on the agenda (noting that one of the presenters had technical difficulties with Zoom and dropped out)
  • Council approved a development application at 45 Sinclair Road, Primrose Valley
  • Council will negotiate a variation to funding agreement for Queanbeyan CBD Transformation and Activation Project with Regional NSW and invite tenders for the detailed design of the Monaro Street Upgrade.
  • Council adopted in principle proposed street names for Elm Grove and will advertise the names for public comment for 28 days
  • Council noted results of community consultation on revised QPRC Cat Containment Area Policy and adopted the revised Policy to apply to Elm Grove, Braidwood Ridge, South Jerrabomberra and future new greenfield developments.  Council will receive a future report and draft strategy for applying policy to all areas of Queanbeyan-Palerang
  • Council endorsed use of Old Braidwood Library by the Braidwood Youth and Performing Arts Association as a no cost hire eligible community group for a trial period of 12 months from 1 July 2023
  • Council endorsed the draft Child Safe Policy and draft Code of Conduct for public exhibition
  • Council received the Investment Report for March 2023, noting return of $1,022,726
  • Council received the Quarter 3 summary report of road renewal and maintenance activities
  • Council noted a report on the site inspection of 45 Sinclair Road, Primrose Valley
  • Council received report on councillor workshops held between 6-19 April 2023, including: Regional Sports Complex – project update, management models and sporting user groups; Community Centres – access arrangement proposal for local community groups; Draft Operational Plan – Revenue Policy Part 3; Southern NSW Destination Management Plan; Draft Operational Plan – Capital and Operational Works Program and Loans
  • Council noted minutes of Local Traffic Committee on 4 April 2023 and adopted recommendations
  • Council noted minutes of Local Development Committee on 4 April 2023
  • Council noted minutes of the QPRC Sports Council on 7 November 2022 and 13 February 2023
  • Council will stop installing new gas appliances in Council buildings, with exception of currently committed projects, and use high-efficiency electrical appliances in new installations and when replacing existing appliances.  Council will implement these requirements into Council asset management plans and Sustainable Design for Council Buildings Policy and develop an overall plan to phase out all use of gas in Council operations aligned to the Operations Climate Change Action Plan
  • In closed session, Council noted the minutes of the Queanbeyan Sporting Gallery on 12 December 2022 and 23 January 2023 and endorsed nominees as recommended for induction into the Gallery.
