Here's the summary of resolutions made at the 9 August 2023 Council Meeting.

  • Council will place the Crown Road Management Policy on public exhibition for 28 days at https://yourvoice.qprc.nsw.gov.au
  • Council will consider funding a review of the Queanbeyan Car Parking Strategy 2018-28 and developing a scope of works during budget deliberations in preparing the 2024-25 Operational Plan
  • Council deferred an information report on road asset management including road building and maintenance capacity to allow it to be re-written to include further information
  • Council received a report on councillor workshops between 20 July - 2 August including Road Naming Policy and Themes; Affordable Housing Strategy Implementation Plan and Priorities; Queanbeyan Golf Club’s proposed development; Naming of Council Facilities; and Scoping Proposal Complying Development Zone C4 Environmental Living
  • Council noted the minutes of QPRC Heritage Advisory Committee of 13 July 2023, noting recommendation not to support signage at 116 Monaro Street, Queanbeyan
  • Council noted the minutes of Environment and Sustainability Advisory Committee meetings of 17 April and 26 July 2023, noting recommendation to submit request to ACT Government for revenue from the Water Abstraction Charge and note the work of the Mulloon Institute
  • Council noted the minutes of the QPRC Access Committee of 14 June 2023
  • Council will submit a request to the ACT Government for 50 per cent of the average annual revenue from the Water Abstraction Charge attributable to residents of Queanbeyan, Jerrabomberra and Googong, for the purpose of catchment management
  • In closed session, Council awarded contract for construction project management services for the Cooma Road Water Mains Upgrade to Black Mountain Construction Assurance for $248,589
  • In closed session, Council awarded the contract to design & construct a Pump Track at Jerrabomberra to Common Ground for $299,900 and will conduct community engagement to finalise preferred location and design with further report to Council
