Current vacancies - Disability Access Committee
Council is inviting nominations from the QPRC community for people with a disability, who are a carer or family member of someone with a disability to fill multiple casual volunteer vacancies for a one-year term on the QPRC Disability Access Committee.
The purpose of this Committee is to provide informed advice to Council on the development, implementation, monitoring and review of policy, strategies and plans to advance the accessibility of the area and the inclusion of people with a disability.
Membership of the committee comprises:
- One Councillor who will act as Chair (currently Cr Kenrick Winchester)
- People living or working with a disability from within the Local Government Area
- Family members of those living with disability
- Agencies providing services to people with a disability
Members are appointed in an individual capacity and not as representative of a particular group.
Meetings are held quarterly in Queanbeyan.
Written nominations indicating that applicants meet the criteria of the casual vacancy on the Committee should be marked “Nomination – QPRC Disability Access Committee” and addressed to the Community Development Officer, Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council, PO Box 90, Queanbeyan 2620, or emailed to community.team@qprc.nsw.gov.au. In your nomination, please include your name, contact details, declare that you don’t have a conflict of interest and any information about your experience in the disability area.
Nominations must be received by Council by 5.00pm on 8 December 2020.
